Hi all!
It’s been a very productive week.
At the Wisner park event this week,  A wonderful Sharpei mix and a shy Calico adult cat got a home.
We also received $50 in donations and continued to increase the  visibility of the shelter. (Fridays event got rained out )
We are getting a new phone line for Shelter Helpers which will have 4 mailboxes. One for the TNR Southside, one for TNR Northside, one for people who want to adopt kittens and one for our general Shelter helper issues.  Special thanks to Jim for donating the answering machine, they aren’t easy to find.  Also Sergeant Close has continued to make huge strides for the TNR program.  And Some Kittens are going to new homes in Albany tomorrow.
Thats just some of the things that have been going on this week.

I know It’s cute but it’s not the finished product. This is exclusive behind the scene footage of Shelter Helpers First Commercial, yes I said it the Shelter Helpers First Commercial. The soon to be aired commercial will be shown on Big Fox WYDC the Home Of American Idol a total of 80 times, yes 80 times!!!

The Saga of “The Best Lil Cathouse in the East” Continues……

Have Fur, Need Home

Ahh the life of a kitten – there is so much to do before noon!  There’s some scratching to do in the Litter Box, some pouncing practice, as well as the all important “find the rattle in the ball” meeting we like to have before breakfast.  Being a kitty is wonderful, but being your kitty would be purrfect!

If your interested in adopting any of the following Cool Kitties, Please contact us at Shelter_Helpers@yahoo.com

When winter breaks and April showers come along, not only do they bring May flowers, but also a slew of kittens!  It’s kitten season all, and Elmira is getting over-run with the lil’ furry delights.  As our way of helping these kittens off to a healthy, happy start, Elmira Shelter Helpers has begun it’s Kitten House project.  With the private donation of a renovated child’s playhouse, and a lil elbow grease to make it kitten-ready, we’re now able to house the kittens slated for euthanasia at the shelter.  We’re averaging 1-2 homes daily, if not more-the kittens just didn’t have that much time at the shelter.

We took in 14 kittens on Monday, and are down to 11 now.  They’re wonderful and delighted to have such a cool place to play and run around, and snuggle down to sleep with fellow furry bandits!  If you or someone you know is interested in their very own bundle of joy, email Shelter Helpers by clicking here.
